about

Priest is about a Frisson: an almost pleasurable sensation of fright (thank you Jordan Rockford for your word prowess). It's a story about an unexpected awakening of ones senses. The awareness of sexuality, and being mistakenly identified by a priest as a male sex worker. The story goes something like this:

On a faintly lit and lurid night in the humidity of summer, a relatively innocent 19 year-old boy, Sidney, set out for a late night slice of pizza. Crossing the street at 104th and Broadway in New York, Sidney crossed paths with a prowler, a vampire in the night, who while driving by in a Lincoln Town Car latched eyes with him. This caused Sidney to feel what can only be described as a Frisson: an almost pleasurable sensation of fright.

Sidney safely returned home to the The Malibu Studio’s, a generously rated 1 star hotel, but did not go back to his bedroom. Instead, awakened and aroused, Sidney went to the rooftop to look down on the street scene where he had so nearly been swept away. There, from his cowering perch, he watched as the man drove past again and again, searching for his tempted little treasure he’d so narrowly missed tasting.

Much more to come.

lyrics

Saw a priest in the back of a cab
Staring out from his window
While glaring in the gaze of his eyes
We met each other soul to soul

Oh, oh, the devils got a hold of me
Oh , oh, he ain’t ever gonna let me be

Time is a crawl as we pass
He’s a devil in a long black dress
Striking fear in my heart and my mind
My innocence in full undress

Oh, oh, the devils got ahold of me
Oh , oh, he ain’t ever gonna let me be

No shelter for a moth in flame
When you’re torn between love and faith
When the truth in your heart is betrayed
All Your praying will not ease your pain

Oh, oh, the devils got ahold of me
Oh , oh, he ain’t ever gonna let me be
